Military Moms of Texas Recipient of KVUE Five Kids Who Care

This month, Military Moms Of Texas junior member, Savannah La Porte is being honored as a recipient of the KVUE Five Who Care Volunteer Of The Year.  “Thank you to all of the volunteers and the Great Oaks Team for all of your contributions,” says Savannah about her classmates.

Savannah and her Great Oaks Team provided care package items and cards that have gone out to our Soldiers over seas. La Porte’s brother, Adam Huckstep, was deployed in October 2009, which encouraged her to get involved, “Savannah’s involvement and passion has enabled Military Moms of Texas to send over 500 packages in just a few short months. And these are ten-year-olds, just think what we could do with the support of an entire community,” says MMOT board member Tara Peteet Yukawa.
